Progress notes must be completed within 24 hours of the session. All progress notes must be “locked” once completed, so they can be reviewed and approved by the Clinical Director, per “Incident to” billing standards. This is done by clicking the “Sign and Share with Supervisor” link after saving a completed note.
If an audit or request for records occurs, and the clinician has not completed their notes, the clinician is financially responsible for any refunds or returns that occur. If an insurance company requests a return of payment for services due to non-compliance, 100% of the requested returned funds will come from the clinician, as the notes are required per the contractual agreement.
