Clinical Social Work/Therapist, LMSW (he, him)
Sometimes we can’t see what is in front of us without some kind of assistance. Therapy can be one way of discovering what it is we need to know about ourselves. Patterns in our lives or things that have happened to us may shake us, and it takes time and support in order to sort it all out.In addressing the concerns of my clients, I wish to meet them where they are and then walk with them through the journey of self-discovery and personal empowerment. Critical to this fluid equation is the cultivation of the therapeutic alliance and a sincere focus on deep, empathic listening. I apply the basic elements of mindfulness, whole person perspective, and cognitive behavioral therapy in a series of counseling sessions that aim to guide the client toward their desired goals of healing, balance, and improved inner health. The pressures of modern life can lower a shadow of despair over anyone's sense of well-being.
The therapy modalities I use are Person- Centered, Inner-Child Work, EMDR, Grief Counseling, Cognitive Behavioral. I have experience working in the foster care system, with adults going through life transitions, grief and loss and, most importantly, have been psychoanalyzed and continue to do my own deep work. This allows me to sit with others without judgment to help them feel less alone as they do this very difficult but life giving work for themselves.
